About Artist

Jaime Beazley is an Australian artist based in Brisbane. Her artworks are set in what she describes as reality, with a twist. In each of her works she takes a realistic image and distorts it into an entirely different artwork. By adding or changing colours, manipulating shapes and negative space, and introducing other components she can change the visual impact of the original image.
It was a style that she created throughout years of being bound by endometriosis, a painful and debilitating chronic illness. Her time was spent scrolling through endless photos and videos on social media sites. Mixing and morphing the images together in her mind to create something more dream like, was an escape from the illness and the four walls of her bedroom.
Now, in 2023 with help from family, friends and doctors, and her illness under control, she plans to take all those thoughts and images and finally bring them to life on canvas.
Jaime’s works are created with a mix of medias; pastel, ink, pencil, pen and acrylic paint. Using methods such as layering, glazing and dry brushing to create the artworks.
She aims to visually please viewers of her work with out of the box images. To bring a smile or thoughts of amusement and intrigue. A moment and a chance to escape from reality, just as she did.
